About RIBIZLI

Ribizli (pronounced rib-is-lee) comes from the Hungarian for currants (red, white or black). Founder and chef Timi also originates from Hungary - and it's her experiences of her grandmother's garden there that have inspired her. Eating freshly picked produce, enjoying the best of each season and preserving during quiet times, making tea from fresh herbs... all done organically and in harmony with nature.

Home to Ribizli is our historic 17th-century wooden-framed cottage behind St Mary's churchyard in the centre of Wallingford. We've created a clean and light space with extra rooms upstairs for dogs (and owners) and children. Downstairs, the team cold-presses juices, cooks tasty, nutritious breakfasts & lunches from scratch and serves high-quality teas and coffees, all of which are 100% plant-based - reducing environmental impacts and avoiding exploitation of animals.

What you won't find here is junk-food or any artificial additives. It may be the plant-based 'burgers' or other substitutes that grab the headlines, but we love to show our customers how flavourful nutrition doesn't need gimmicks.

We started in 2016 and have grown and developed ever since. In 2019 we welcomed an on-site microbakery - Bare Bread - upstairs, who provide us with fresh, organic artisan sourdough baked products.

Nathan the baker also collaborates with us to cater for private events - contact us via this page if you'd like to discuss your needs.

Ribizli aims to cater for as many special diets as possible - for example we have been making all our cakes with non-gluten containing ingredients since opening. From January 2020 we have also stopped using all refined sugars! If you are concerned about allergens or have specific food intolerances, you may like to inform us ahead of your visit so we ensure there is a menu choice suitable for you.

However, due to the set-up of our kitchen, bakery and serving area, we cannot completely guarantee against cross-contamination of allergens for those with severe allergies.

We're always on the look-out for new opportunities - in 2020 we aim to go fully organic, having already removed all refined sugar from our cakes. Thank you for reading about us & we hope to see you soon!
